The collection is inspired by Jean Giono’s novella, The Man Who Planted Trees, written in 1953. The warm tones and raw surfaces evoke the Provençal landscape. The shaping process is akin to meticulous weaving. Each strand of clay is sculpted, then added and connected to the others; slowly, the woody form evolves, and the sculptures emerge like solitary tree trunks.
